Moyang Yang is the Founder and Managing Director of MOYA Studio, a specialist bag and accessories design and product development studio supporting founders from initial concept through to manufacturing and launch.
With more than 12 years of experience across fashion, luxury, entrepreneurship and product development, Moyang brings together creative direction, commercial strategy and hands-on manufacturing knowledge. Her career has included experience within the luxury fashion industry, including Net-a-Porter, alongside launching and developing her own handbag brand and supporting emerging founders in bringing new products to market.
Moyang founded MOYA Studio after recognising a recurring gap in the industry: founders often had strong ideas but lacked access to the joined-up design, technical and manufacturing expertise needed to develop them successfully. MOYA Studio was created to bridge that gap, guiding clients through product strategy, design development, technical specifications, prototyping, sourcing, manufacturer selection and production preparation.
What distinguishes Moyang’s approach is her ability to connect design decisions directly with manufacturing feasibility and commercial objectives. Rather than treating design, development and sourcing as separate stages, she helps founders consider positioning, target retail price, production costs, materials, construction and manufacturing requirements throughout the development process.
MOYA Studio works internationally, with a presence and specialist network spanning the UK, United States, China and Europe. Moyang and her team have supported more than 20 founders across handbags, travel products, pet accessories, maternity products and other specialist soft-goods categories.
In 2026, MOYA Studio was named Creative StartUp of the Year for the South West of England at the UK StartUp Awards, recognising the studio’s innovation, growth and contribution to helping emerging brands develop commercially viable products.

- LUVR - Interchangeable Premium Handbag
Role and contribution: Product strategy, mechanism development, handbag design refinement and production feasibility.
MOYA Studio supported the development of a premium handbag with interchangeable flaps. The client’s original mechanism was difficult to use and lacked the refinement required for the upper mid-market. By researching beyond conventional handbag hardware and drawing inspiration from industrial hinge systems, MOYA Studio developed a more intuitive mechanism using readily available components, avoiding the cost of custom hardware. The bag structure and seam placement were also refined to improve its premium appearance and manufacturability.
Outcome: A commercially viable interchangeable-flap system, improved ease of use and a launched product, with the mechanism progressing toward patent application.
